Internal-external attention switching SEEG epochs, DMN and DAN channels, 25 epilepsy patients (Hammer et al. 2024)

iEEG

Stereo-EEG epochs from 25 patients with drug-resistant epilepsy undergoing presurgical monitoring, recorded while they alternated between an external-attention visual search task and an internal-attention autobiographical question task. Epochs span -4 to +4 s around each task switch (external-to-internal or internal-to-external). They are limited to bipolar channels assigned to the default mode network and dorsal attention network by the Yeo-7 atlas. This is a BIDS repackaging of the authors' preprocessed release. The physical unit of the signal is not stated by the authors; channels are labelled µV as a curator assumption.

Multi-Expert Seizure Annotation

iEEG

Stereotactic EEG recordings of 78 seizures (44 spontaneous, 34 stimulation-induced) from 29 patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, recruited at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Three or five board-certified epileptologists independently annotated each seizure for onset time, onset channels, and channels seizing 10 seconds after onset. The BIDS-formatted data include electrode localizations, patient demographics, and clinical outcomes. They support benchmarking of automated seizure onset and spread detection against expert performance and comparison of spontaneous and stimulation-induced seizure networks.

This derivative dataset repackages the public Dryad release accompanying Siebenhühner et al. (2020). It provides per-subject connectivity matrices computed from 10-minute resting-state SEEG (59 epilepsy patients) and MEG (19 healthy participants, plus a 10-participant eyes-open/eyes-closed cohort) recordings. The matrices cover phase synchrony (PLV, wPLI), cross-frequency phase synchrony, phase-amplitude coupling and amplitude-envelope coupling, each with surrogate values. Supporting files, neuropsychological scores and figure plot data are also included. Raw recordings are not included.

The data support analyses showing that ripples reflect a spectrum of synchronous spiking activity. Raw continuous recordings are not included.

iEEG during direct electrical stimulation of orbitofrontal and other sites (Rao, Sellers et al., 2018): continuous-stimulation and single-pulse recordings

Intracranial EEG (ECoG grids/strips and stereo-EEG depth electrodes) from 17 adults undergoing inpatient seizure monitoring, recorded before, during and after continuous 100 Hz direct electrical stimulation of the lateral orbitofrontal cortex and other sites, as well as during single-pulse electrical stimulation. The accompanying study reported that unilateral lateral OFC stimulation acutely improved mood in participants with moderate-to-severe baseline depression symptoms and suppressed low-frequency OFC power. The dataset is converted to iEEG-BIDS from the original Dryad release.

Human Responses to Visually Evoked Threat: intracranial EEG during virtual-reality heights, no-heights and shark stimuli (3 patients)

Intracranial EEG recordings from three patients with treatment-resistant epilepsy, collected at UCSF while they viewed immersive virtual-reality stimuli. The stimuli were a modified virtual-heights scene, a no-heights baseline in a virtual hospital room, and (in two patients) a 360° great white shark movie. Skin conductance and visual-scanning measures were recorded alongside, with electrodes covering regions such as the insula and orbitofrontal cortex. The data are the unprocessed iEEG part of a release studying human responses to visually evoked threat.

Each patient has 170 bipolar-referenced epochs spanning -2 to 7.9 s around encoding onset. Recordings cover the inferior parietal lobule, ventral temporal cortex and hippocampus. The dataset is a BIDS derivative that re-packages the authors' Zenodo release without further processing.

Data cover 248 bipolar derivations in the anterior insula, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, lateral orbitofrontal cortex and ventromedial prefrontal cortex, time-locked to outcome. The derivative release supports information-theoretic analyses showing dissociable reward and punishment subsystems in the human frontal cortex.

Intracranial entrainment reveals statistical learning across levels of abstraction (Sherman et al., 2023): raw iEEG from 8 neurosurgical patients

iEEG

Raw intracranial EEG (iEEG) recorded from 8 neurosurgical patients with electrodes implanted for seizure monitoring while they passively viewed rapid streams of scene photographs. Streams contained statistical structure at the category level or the exemplar level, alongside a random baseline. Neural entrainment (phase coherence) at the image frequency (2 Hz) and the pair frequency (1 Hz) was used to track online statistical learning across levels of abstraction. The data are converted to iEEG-BIDS without signal modification.
