This dataset contains raw neuroimaging recordings collected with the Visual Attribute-Specific Contextual Trajectory Paradigm 2.0. The paradigm is used to study how the brain generates domain-general visual surprise signals and how their latency depends on the visual attribute that is violated. The MNE-Sample-Data dataset is a simultaneous MEG and 60-channel EEG recording with an accompanying structural MRI, distributed with the MNE software. Checkerboard patterns were presented to the left and right visual fields, interleaved with tones to the left or right ear, and the subject responded to occasional smiley faces. It serves as a standard example dataset for demonstrating MEG/EEG analysis workflows, and FreeSurfer-derived anatomical surfaces are included.

A multi-modal face processing dataset combining simultaneously recorded MEG and EEG with structural MRI from 18 participants. Participants viewed famous, unfamiliar, and scrambled faces and made a symmetry judgment by button press.
