Learning from label proportions for a visual matrix speller (ERP)
EEG ZarrEEG recordings from 13 healthy participants performing a copy-spelling task with a visual 6x7 matrix ERP speller. The speller was designed for learning from label proportions (LLP), an unsupervised, calibrationless classification approach for ERP-based brain-computer interfaces. Two stimulus sequences with different target/non-target ratios allowed LLP to reconstruct mean target and non-target responses without labeled data. In the original online study, 84.5% of characters were spelled correctly on average without prior calibration.

BNCI 2024-001 Handwritten Character Classification dataset
EEG ZarrEEG recordings from 20 healthy participants who wrote ten letters (a, d, e, f, j, n, o, s, t, v) with the right index finger after a visual cue. The dataset supports classification of handwritten characters, either directly from low-frequency and broadband EEG or with a two-step approach that first decodes continuous hand kinematics and then classifies the letter. It is intended for research on non-invasive brain-computer interfaces for communication.
